Heritage Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, Bible-believing church. We are conservative in our theology and we believe that the purpose of the church is to bring glory to God, to evangelize the lost and to edify the saints. We are family-oriented and missions minded. We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, eternal and final word of God to man and is therefore authoritative and sufficient in its message. 2.) Absolute Religious Freedom. We believe that every man should be free to worship as he will, and not forced to worship if he does not so desire. 3.) The Absolute Lordship of Christ. We recognize civil authority and obey the laws of the land. Scripture teaches this is right. However, in the realm of religion, Christ's authority as the Head of the church supersedes man's authority. 4.) The Bible to be the One Rule of Faith and Practice. (1) We have no creed, save the Bible. (2) As a result of our reading and study of this Word of God, we have come to certain outstanding conclusions: (a) A regenerate church membership; (b) Believer's baptism; (c) The two ordinances (Baptism and the Lord's Supper) are not sacraments but symbols which we participate in for the purpose of publicly identifying ourselves with Christ and His church and to remind ourselves of our privileges as children of God. 5.) The Individual's Right to Approach God for Himself. (1) "There is one Mediator between man and God, the Man, Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5); (2) Every individual must stand before God alone without human props. 6.) The Independence of the Local Church. Every Baptist Church should be independent and govern itself under the guidance of God. 7.) The Equality of Believers. Christ is the Head and Lord of His Church. All of His ministers are servants and equal in rank.
